25-03 Students study Solar Eclipse

All of our students were given the chance to see the Solar Eclipse over the UK on Friday.

Our students and staff went outside two classes at a time to see the spectacle through protective filters.

CTS Director of Science Victoria Khan said: “Some of the students were very excited beforehand while others weren’t sure what to expect but they were impressed when they saw the eclipse.

“It was cloudy here but in the exact area where the Sun was there was a break in the cloud so it just poked through.

“We had talked about the eclipse during assembly on Wednesday and it was particularly relevant to our Year 8 students who have been studying space.

“The students were interested to learn that eclipses happen on a regular basis but that they are not visible everywhere.”
