A world renowned producer of packaging invited two of our Year 10 students to look around its operation.

Smurfit Kappa is a major producer of paper-based packaging and has 42,000 employees in 33 countries.

Year 10 students Tommy and Jordan were invited to have a look around its base in Corby during a visit organised by Corby Business Group.

CTS Teacher Daniel Rogers accompanied the students on the trip.

He said: “The students are interested in product design and it was a great chance for them to meet people in the industry.

“They toured the premises and met the design team and were given brilliant advice about how to get into the business.

“They were also given the opportunity to learn about how different types of machinery work, what the firm produces and how it produces its products.”
