15-06 Cricketers perform well at BWT tournament

Our young cricketers performed very well at the first Brooke Weston Trust Cricket Tournament at Northamptonshire’s County Cricket Ground.

Our young cricketers performed very well at the first Brooke Weston Trust Cricket Tournament at Northamptonshire’s County Cricket Ground.

A team of our Year 7 and 8 players faced stiff competition from other senior schools in the Trust yesterday but they competed very well and finished third.

CTS PE Teacher Dan Rogers said: “It was a fantastic experience for our students to play at a professional ground and they were given a tour of the stadium too.

“All our students were amazing. Ewan from 7S hit a six, Logan from 8T caught someone out and bowled someone out and Will from 8C also bowled someone out.

“Most of the schools’ teams were made up of Year 8 students so we did particularly well to come third as we took along Year 7 students as well as Year 8 students to the event.

“Our students showed great sportsmanship and mixed well with the students from the other Trust schools.

“This is the first time we have held this tournament and we hope it will become an annual event.”

The CTS Player of the Tournament was Ewan from 7S.

The tournament was won by the team from Brooke Weston.
