Students from across Corby Technical School experienced a wide range of activities during National School Sport Week.

Our students took part in a Zumba class, a Thai Boxing session, visited Corby Smash Table Tennis Centre and visited a golf range.

Our Year 7 students also took part in a Year 7 Athletics Championship at Corby Triangle and our students were introduced to paralympic sports, including sitting volleyball and goalball which is a team sport for blind or visually impaired players.

CTS PE Teacher Kieron Chatfield said: “We wanted to use National School Sport Week to give our students the opportunity to participate in a variety of different sports, including ones they had not tried before.

“The students really liked the variety that was on offer to them. They approached the activities with a positive attitude and they all enjoyed themselves.

“Some of our Year 10 students even had a go at making up their own sports.”

The Thai Boxing session was partly run by Year 9’s Bayley (pictured) who is an eight-times British champion in the sport.
