Our brilliant young team of bakers came second in the third annual Great BWT Bake Off.

Year 7 students Katie, Sophie and Luke and Year 9 student Eden made up the youngest team of bakers at yesterday’s Bake Off final which was staged at Corby Business Academy.

They were beaten to the top spot by the team from CBA.

CTS Teacher David Harley helped our students to prepare for the competition.

He said: “Our students worked really well together and I was particularly impressed with the mini Victoria sponges they made.

“We had a very young team and they performed very well.”

CBA Senior Assistant Principal Andrea Callender presented the winning team with the Bake Off trophy.

She said: “This is the third time the Brooke Weston Trust has held this contest. It is a fantastic project and it seems to get better every year.

“I would like to thank all the students from Kettering Science Academy, Corby Technical School and Corby Business Academy for putting in so much effort into producing these wonderful dishes.

“I would also like to thank all the staff who support the Bake Off.”

During the final the students had to produce an afternoon tea for four people including four sweet dishes, two savoury dishes and a drink.

The CTS team chose the Tour de France as the theme for their afternoon tea.
