A trophy for our cabinet

Two students rowed their way to success and picked up a glittering trophy for their efforts.

Scott Clarke and Aidan McBride came first in the boys rowing finals of the Winter School games. They paired with a couple of older students from Prince William School in the event, which took place over a 2012 metre distance.

Scott said: “It was great to win the trophy, which we will be sharing with the Prince William students. We did not expect to win but it was an exciting race.”

Sports teacher Louise Feeley, who has been coaching the students across a number of disciplines for the Winter Sports games, said: “The students did really well, especially as they were paired with students they had not worked with before.”

Christabel Kashiri and Natalie Bristow came in third in their race, after pairing with two Year 9 students from our sister school Brooke Weston Academy.

The Winter Sports league has now finished for Key Stage 3 students. From September our students will be taking part in the netball and football district league.
