Corby Technical School’s Young Leaders helped out at the annual Welland Valley Athletics event, held at the Rockingham Triangle Sports Stadium.

The 14 young leaders acted as umpires at the event, which saw 8 small local primary schools from Corby compete in a range of sports.

The young leaders ran events such as the vortex howler throw and standing long jump. They supported over 300 students throughout the day, helping them with their techniques and recorded the scores.

PE teacher Mr Daniel Rogers said ‘The students were excellent ambassadors for the school. They demonstrated great leadership skills and were role models to the younger students. The Trust primary school governor also commented on this.

‘We will definitely been attending the event again next year.’

Well done and thank you to all the young leaders.
