Students had fun with books during a session of literacy themed events, which ended with a sponsored readathon.

An inter-form quiz was followed by a 75 minute sponsored readathon, with students bringing in their favourite book for a mass reading session.

Each tutor group choose their own charity, with the Wessex Cardiac Centre being selected by 7T as student Darnell’s baby brother was recently treated there.

Darnell said: “It means a lot that my class raised money for the centre that recently treated my brother.”

Drew, was sponsored an impressive £41 for his sponsored read.

7T won the inter-form quiz which took place in two stages. Students had to pair up within their forms and name as many books as possible by a given list of 20 authors. Three students from each form then competed in the interform general literature quiz.
