14-11 Last day at school's old building before move

Tomorrow will be the final day that staff and students will work in Corby Technical School’s old building.

Tomorrow will be the final day that staff and students will work in Corby Technical School’s old building.
Throughout the past week the preparations for the move to the school’s new £6m building (pictured) have intensified but it has been business as usual as far as lessons have been concerned.
On Monday 18th November staff and students will meet for the last time at the old school before heading over to the new two storey secondary school which houses a sports hall, technology area, library, theatre and glass-fronted classrooms.
Principal Angela Reynolds said: “The students have been very patient while they’ve been waiting for their new school.
“They’re getting quite excited about the move and our staff are excited too.
“Our staff will be working very hard over this weekend to make sure the school is ready for the students on Monday.”
Year 8 students Aidan and Rachel are excited about the move.
Aidan said: “It will feel really weird to leave the old school because we are used to it.
“I feel a bit nervous but I feel excited too. I’m really looking forward to seeing the new library and the computer room.”
Rachel added: “It will feel strange to leave because we’ve spent a year here and I have never been in a big school before.
“But I can’t wait to see the new hall because it’s supposed to be a lot bigger and it will be where we’ll do our talent shows.
“I’m also looking forward to seeing the computer room.”
The new building, which is next to the old school building, has been designed to cater for 475 pupils.
