Our students are being challenged to take part in a project to tell stories from the First World War.

Head of Humanities, Andy Blackshaw, is encouraging students to take part in the First World War Centenary School Report project which is being run by ITV News Anglia.

The company wants students to share stories from their school’s local area or involving someone who lived there during the First World War.

The winning students will have their report filmed by ITV News Anglia.

Mr Blackshaw said: “This competition is a great way to engage the students with history and in particular local history in the centenary year of the outbreak of the First World War.

“ITV News Anglia will come into the winning school and the students will get the chance to film and present their story on television.”

The school must submit its first draft of ideas on Monday.

Mr Blackshaw is keen to hear from students in Years 7 and 8 who want to take part in the project.
