Two talented young trampolinists excelled themselves at a regional competition.

Year 8 student Emma (pictured above) and Year 7 student Patrick (pictured below) both came second in their categories at the East Midlands Regional Competition held in Lincoln.

Both students train with Corby Trampoline Club which is based at Lodge Park.

Emma said: “My routine for the competition was the hardest one I’ve done so far and I’d been practising it since November.

“It was my first regional competition and I was nervous but I felt better after the warm-up.

“I thought I would be lucky if I came third or fourth so it was great to come second and get a silver medal.

“I feel really proud of myself and it’s given me more confidence.

“My Mum first took me to Lodge Park to have a go at trampolining seven years ago and I fell in love with it.

“I enjoy trampolining and I love the feeling you get with competing.”

Patrick got into trampolining through gymnastics and has been involved with the sport for four years.

He said: “I worked hard on my routine– it had four somersaults in it.”
