A Year 7 student has made it through to the Northamptonshire Cross Country Championships.

Drew beat off tough competition from young runners from across Corby and Kettering to come 7th in the U-13s category of the district championships.

His success means he will represent the school at the county championships which will be held in Northampton on Saturday 11th January.

Drew said: “It was hard but I enjoyed it because it was fun to run against my friends and the other competitors.

“I’m excited about going to the county championships and I feel proud to be representing the school.”

PE teacher Louise Feeley said: “Our runners did very well and I’m massively proud of all of them.

“Drew finished in the top 20 in his category so he will go on to run at the county championships.

“Our Year 8 girls also did brilliantly. They all came among the top 80 finishers and another of our Year 8 students, Christian, moved up 12 places from where he finished last year which is a huge achievement.

“The success of our runners this year gives us something to build on for next year.”
