Year 8

Studying the Transatlantic Slave Trade, American Civil Rights before moving chronologically through the two World Wars, Year 8 students will build upon their skills and understanding developed throughout Year 7 to help them explore questions like ‘Why were people bought and sold in The Americas?’, ‘How did key individuals and groups achieve racial equality in the USA?’ and ‘Why did the world go to war with itself twice in as many decades?’

Students will be challenged to consider cause and consequence of events and actions, considering a wide range of interpretations to form their own conclusions of key moments in history.

Through the implementation of an engaging, exciting and challenging curriculum, we aim to inspire our students to become historians at GCSE and beyond.
