Sportsmen and women opened our students’ eyes to a range of new activities during National School Sports Week.

We welcomed a variety of visitors to our school, including experts in archery, thai boxing, table tennis and bowls.

Our talented  young sports stars also led assemblies throughout the week on the sports they are involved in.

PE Teacher Louise Feeley said: “National School Sports Week gave the students the opportunity to discover new sports and new talents and it helped us to strengthen our links with sports clubs in the area.

“The week was fantastic. It was great to have so many different sports people here and the students really enjoyed taking part in the activities.

“The thai boxing was very popular and some of the students have said they are interested in taking up the sports we ran during the week.

“We’d like to thank all the visitors who coached our students throughout the week.”

The sports assemblies led by students featured a display of trampolining by Patrick, Emma and Alex, a gymnastic display by Brize and Beth and a martial arts display by Casey, Bailey and Dmitrijs.

The clubs which supported us during the week included Corby Archers, Corby Table Tennis Club and Corby Seagrave House Bowls Club.

Our school sports day will be held on Monday.
