On Monday, a team of Year 10 students took part in the International Space Challenge at RAF Waddington.

The six students competed against other schools across the region, to design and market a space hotel of the future. They used their science and engineering knowledge to design the hotel and build a model, considering details such as materials, power, cost, waste, food etc.

They then had created a marketing presentation in German to sell the hotel to investors. Both presentations were presented to RAF engineers and linguists, who judged the results. Afterwards, students received a bonus Russian language taster session from RAF linguists.

MrMcRae-Smith said ‘The students worked brilliantly as a team, against some really strong competition. Their design was noted for being well planned out and researched. Daniella received a special individual prize for her contribution towards the language presentation as well. They should all be very proud of their efforts, and were a credit to the school.’

Well done to Taylor, Lucy, Mikey, Cameron, Daniella and Aaron
