8C student Shannon was named Best Singer in a competition in Corby.

Shannon sang ‘Someone Like You’ by Adele in the contest at The Grampian Club.

She also took part in the competition as part of a group representing Nene Valley Dance Academy, with whom Shannon takes singing lessons, singing ‘Price Tag’ by Jessie J.

Shannon said: “There were 20 acts and quite a big crowd. I was really pleased to win Best Singer.

“I have entered singing competitions in the past and I have won a couple of trophies before for singing. I have been having singing lessons for about a year but I have always enjoyed singing.”

The event was held in aid of local charity Macy’s Memory.
