Year 12

In Year 12 students study A level Design Engineering (OCR)

Projects include familiarisation with commonly used engineering tools and equipment (milling machine and centre lathe), mathematical and scientific principles in engineering, bike light design (trial project) including understanding material properties.

The NEA (non-examined assessment) is a recommended 65 hour project that will begin at the end of term 3 of year 12 and will be of the student own choice. It will constitute 50% of the A level grade. Topics covered will be …
