Year 8
In Year 8 our students are guided through a series of modules designed to enlighten them on the different aspects of English study whilst building on the skills already developed in Year 7. Students will continue to develop their writing and core skills, alongside exploring a range of texts, including modern fiction, Shakespeare and poetry from different cultures.
At CTS, we encourage students to read in English lessons (with ten minutes private reading at the start), outside of English lessons and at home. We aim to promote a positive reading culture where students can apply their reading skills to their studies. Below is a list of recommended reads for Year 8:
