Physical Education

The PE curriculum at Corby Technical School is devised to provide a broad and varied learning experience for our students, inspiring lifelong participation in physical activity. Our Key Stage 3 curriculum is structured to challenge and support students to develop their lifeskills using sport as the tool to do so. In Key Stage 4, there are three different pathways students can chose from, encouraging them to take ownership of their learning.

Students are assessed using the Brooke Weston Trust Head, Heart, Hands criteria which incorporates student’s attitude to learning, knowledge of technical skills and tactics in accompaniment of their physical technique.

Physical Education is timetabled for all year groups to have two 75 minute lessons per week. In Year 9 students are given the opportunity to take GCSE PE (AQA) and as of September 2018 the school will offer A level PE (AQA).
