In Year 8 students further their programming skills in preparation for Key Stage 4 study. Students will create a virtual pet game in Scratch, program the BBC Micro:bit to create digital compasses, step counters and thermostats and utilise the high level programming language, Python. The skills gained through Year 8 prepare students for the GCSE Computer Science syllabus.
