Year 7

In Year 7 we offer students a broad experience in technology. Students are about to begin a progressive experience that aims to ultimately equip them for GCSEs in Year 11 and to develop life skills through problem solving. This includes designing merchandise for an exhibition on the work of famous architect Zaha Hadid, working with polymers (plastic), designing and manufacturing using computer technology (key ring design), food preparation and nutrition (licence to cook), racing car design and kite construction as an extra-curricular link with geography to be tested on the Hunstanton field trip.

Home learning tasks are in the form of a multiple-choice grid with tasks of varying challenge. Students are expected to complete two of these by the end of the firth week of the term.

Students are graded based on the coursework completion and the results of an end of term test (week 5) to ensure knowledge is retained.
