More than 40 Year 8 students are preparing to visit France during Corby Technical School’s first trip abroad.

During the trip the students will visit First World War battlefields, Le Chateau du Broutel, which hosts school activity and adventure holidays, and France’s ‘seaworld’ experience - the Nausicaa Centre in Boulogne (pictured).

Director of Mathematics, Linda Arnold, will be one of the teachers accompanying the students on the trip.

She said: “This will be the first time we have been abroad as a school and for some students it will also be the first time they have been away from home.

“It will give them the chance to explore a different culture and language as well as being a great team-building experience for us.

“Our students studied French in Year 7 so hopefully it will give them the chance to practise what they learned.

“I’m sure the trip will also help the students to build their self-confidence.”

The students will also explore local towns and French markets during their stay.

The trip will take place from May 27th to May 30th.
