A karate expert added another medal to his collection earlier this summer.

Year 8 student Dmitrijs took part in a national karate competition in the Midlands and won silver.

Dmitrijs, who trains with Punchin’ Pandas in Corby and Kettering, said: “It was a difficult competition. I had to demonstrate that I could do a variety of moves during my routine.

“Everyone at the event was really good and I was really happy when I found out I had won silver.

“It’s given me even more confidence for my future competitions.”
