11-02 Bakers raise hundreds of pounds for charity

Young bakers at our school have helped to raise hundreds of pounds for charity.

Young bakers at our school have helped to raise hundreds of pounds for charity.

A group of students stayed behind after school last week to bake a variety of cakes for our fundraising sale which was held last Friday in aid of Ehlers-Danlos Support UK.

The event raised £210.39 for the charity which supports people with an inherited condition called Ehlers-Danlos syndrome (EDS) which impacts on connective tissues that provide support in skin, tendons, ligaments, blood, vessels, internal organs and bones.

Teacher Markus Wilson said: “One of our students gave an assembly about EDS because he has the condition.

“As a result we decided we would like to raise awareness about the condition and money for the charity through a bake sale.

“The cakes were delicious and the sale brought the whole school together. We’re delighted with how much money we raised.”

The sale was open to staff and students.
