Members of our popular Book Club have been avidly reading the titles shortlisted for one of the UK’s most prestigious book awards.

The CILIP Carnegie and Kate Greenaway Children’s Book Awards celebrate outstanding new books for children and young people.

Our Library has a copy of every book which has been shortlisted for the Awards and our Book Club members have been shadowing the judges by reading the nominations.

Librarian Amy McKay said: “Our students have been reading the shortlisted books and have been very vocal about them.

“It is the first time students here have been involved in the Carnegie Shadowing programme and the experience has widened their horizons.

“Later this week we hope to take them to a celebration of the Carnegie Awards at Lodge Park Academy.”

Our Book Club meets on Thursday mornings in the Library.

The winners of the Awards will be announced on June 22nd.
