A group of our students had the chance to meet the award-winning artist who created the new Harry Potter illustrated book.

Illustrator Jim Kay talked about his work on Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone Illustrated Edition, and the exciting moment he got the call to say J K Rowling wanted him to create the book, during a visit to our fellow Brooke Weston Trust school Corby Business Academy.

He also spoke to the students about his involvement in hit television shows, including the BBC’s Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell series.

CTS Director of English Markus Wilson said: “Our students are keen readers, and a number are interested in being illustrators, so it was great for them to meet Jim.

“He showed the students some of his work, including pieces that hadn’t made it into the finished Harry Potter book, and spoke to them about other projects he is working on.

“He very kindly signed books for our students and the visit was definitely a highlight of the term.

“We would like to thank CBA Librarian Amy McKay for arranging the visit.”
