CTS hosted Northamptonshire Sport Award ceremony

Corby Technical School held an afternoon to celebrate the sporting success that Northamptonshire schools have achieved throughout the year.

Corby Technical School held an afternoon to celebrate the sporting success that Northamptonshire schools have achieved throughout the year. Sports stars from across the county attended the event including Claire Stancliffe, recent winner of the Football Women’s Deaf World Cup in Italy and Alex Wakely, captain of the Northants Steelbacks.

Trophies were handed out to students who also had the chance to ask the athletes questions about how they were influenced and how school played a big part in their sporting lives.

PE teacher, Dan Rogers said 'It was a great afternoon, sport has brought schools from across the county together to showcase what each school has achieved.'

This year students from CTS participated in the School Games giving them a unique opportunity to compete at an inter-school level against local primary and secondary schools. During the event students played a variety of team games including football and basketball.

Mr Rogers said 'Many schools competed in the competition and it inspired pupils across the county. We did very well and landed ourselves a bronze medal for the school. The students are hoping to do even better next year.'

Northamptonshire Sport made valuable donations to schools in need of extra funding to get the best experience in PE for their pupils.
