Yesterday, students from CTS took part in a variety of activities to celebrate World Book Day.

Students completed a quiz and heard book extracts read to them by their tutors during form time, to encourage reading for pleasure. Librarian Jodie Kidner launched a ‘Make a Book’ competition in which students will make their own small book and fill the pages with a short story. The winner will be announced the first Friday back after the half term break and will be judged on both the look of the book and the content it contains.

Jodie said ‘World Book Day is very exciting because we can use it as a platform to encourage students to read for pleasure and discuss our favourite books. The book competition has also proven to be very popular with the students and I am looking forward to seeing what the students have produced after the half term.’
