Corby Technical School is celebrating its first set of GCSE examination results.

Corby Technical School is celebrating its first set of GCSE examination results. 83% of Year 11 students secured grades 9-4 in the newly reformed English qualifications. 72% of the students secured the same in mathematics. Principal Angela Reynolds, said ‘I am delighted with this excellent set of results, we are very proud of the hard work and determination that our students have displayed. Given the backdrop of GCSE reform, this is an excellent foundation for us to build on for the future.

In particular, we are delighted that three of our students, Jess Christensen, Dmitrijs Gnennijs and SeanTanangonan each gained a level 9 in Mathematics. For our small cohort of students, this is an exceptional result and a reflection of the technical ethos of our school.

Principal Angela Reynolds said: 'I'd like to thank staff and parents for the outstanding support that they have offered our students. This is a very solid set of results that we have been working towards for years and It was amazing seeing the reactions of the students and to find out more about their plans for the future, including their plans for Sixth Form study.

‘This is a particularly pivotal time in our history as we are in the process of moving into our brand new extension which will effectively double the size of the school, increase the number of students we can accommodate along with the variety of subjects that we offer. Corby Technical School has developed massively since these initial students started and they have done us proud with these results and set the first benchmark for future students to aim for or exceed. Congratulations to them all.'
