Budding authors and illustrators are battling it out to win one of the greatest graphic novels of all time.

Corby Technical School has launched a competition encouraging students to produce a text which unites pictures and words to tell a story.

The prize for the best entry is a copy of Watchmen by Northamptonshire’s Alan Moore.

Director of English Markus Wilson said: “Students can either write and illustrate their story on their own or they could work in groups.

“The entries that I have seen so far have been really good.

“Watchmen is regarded as the greatest graphic novel of all time. Alan Moore’s work is remarkable and he’s a very interesting guy.”

The deadline for entries is today and the winner will be announced next week.
