Our young master bakers are preparing to take part in their next challenge.

A group of our students will bake cupcakes this week during the fourth round of the Great BWT Bake Off competition.

CTS Receptionist and Administrator Tracy Keogh is helping to run the competition.

She said: “The students are really on board and are coming up with fantastic ideas.

“They are very enthusiastic and are practising their baking at home. They are really growing in confidence and I couldn’t be more proud of them.”

To date the students have made shortbread biscuits, scones and a tray bake during the first three challenges.

The students are judged in three areas – presentation, taste and hygiene.

Business Manager Wendy Crookston is one of the competition judges.

She said: “The students are trying really hard and they are all really good.

“The tray bake round was particularly hard to judge because all the entries were of such a high standard.”

At the end of the competition all the points will be added up and CBA’s best bakers will go through to the grand final of the Bake Off where they will compete against the best young bakers from other Brooke Weston Trust schools.
