A variety of sportsmen and women will visit our school next week to introduce us to new activities during National School Sport Week 2014.

We will welcome experts from Corby Archers, Corby Table Tennis Club and Corby Seagrave House Bowls Club and the students will also take part in a variety of other sports during the week, including skittles and rounders.

Our talented young sports stars will also give assemblies on their chosen sport throughout the week.

PE Teacher Louise Feeley said: “National School Sport Week was launched to introduce all students to a variety of sports and to celebrate sports.

“We will focus on sports that we don’t tend to play in our normal lessons.

“We were very keen to work with local clubs and hope we can build lasting relationships with them.”

This week our Year 7 rounders team also competed in their first tournament at Latimer Arts College.

Our team won one match and lost a second.

Miss Feeley said: “I thought our students played very well.

“They coped with their nerves and their behaviour was very good.”
