25-06 Young engineers make bead creatures

Brightly coloured lizards, turtles and monkeys have taken over one of our classrooms.

Brightly coloured lizards, turtles and monkeys have taken over one of our classrooms.

The creatures have been made out of beads and wire by our Year 7 students during their STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) lessons.

The students also created origami boxes for packaging and posters to promote their finished products.

Teacher Liz Loake said: “The project taught them the importance of following instructions when they are tackling engineering schemes.

“They learned how to work with wire and they had to design their packaging and posters.

“The students were very enthusiastic about the project and they all did really well.”
