A group of bright mathematicians has won a host of awards in a national competition.

We entered 20 of our best mathematicians from Years 7 and 8 into the UK Mathematics Trust’s Individual Maths Challenge.

More than 200,000 students from across the country entered the contest and were challenged to answer a series of 26 logic and problem solving questions involving maths within one hour.

Director of Mathematics Linda Arnold said: “Our students did incredibly well.

“It was the second time our students had entered the competition and they really got into it.

“I’m very proud of the way they all performed.”

Nathan, Charlotte, Sean and Charlie won gold, Aaron won silver and Joe, Scott, Dmitrijs, James, Joe and Katie won bronze.
