21-01 Success for Year 9 Volleyball Team

Our Year 9 Boys Volleyball Team has made it through to the Northamptonshire final of the Sainsbury’s School Games.

Our Year 9 Boys Volleyball Team has made it through to the Northamptonshire final of the Sainsbury’s School Games.

Our team won their place after beating a team made up of Year 10 players from Brooke Weston by 19-17 in the Year 9 and 10 Volleyball section of the Corby, Oundle and Thrapston area finals of the contest last week.

CTS PE Teacher Louise Feeley said: “Our boys did really well because the category was for Years 9 and 10 so most of the other schools entered Year 10 players.

“I think their success bodes very well for our future.”

Our Year 9 Girls Volleyball Team will also compete for a place in the county finals when our school hosts the other Corby, Oundle and Thrapston area final on Monday.

The county final of the competition will be held on February 27th at KLV in Kettering.

From tomorrow our school will also welcome coaches from Volleyball England who will run a Volleyball Club for students in Year 8 and 9 for the next six weeks.

Any students who want to take part should contact Miss Feeley.
