16-09 Year 10 students create ribbons to raise awareness about childhood cancer

Our students will be making gold ribbons this week to raise awareness about childhood cancer.

Our students will be making gold ribbons this week to raise awareness about childhood cancer.

Members of 10T will make the ribbons after school and will give a presentation about their work during assembly tomorrow.

The ribbons will go on sale soon and the students hope their efforts will raise awareness about Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, which is taking place throughout September, and raise money for the charity Cancer Research UK.

10T Tutor Victoria Khan said: “The students wanted to raise awareness about Childhood Cancer Awareness Month because of the numbers of children who are being diagnosed with cancer daily.

“We also hope to organize a fundraising day when students will be invited to come into school wearing something gold.”

Every day more than 10 children are diagnosed with cancer in the UK.
