Sports leaders from Corby Technical School helped to run a major sporting event for students with disabilities.

Our Brooke Weston Trust Young Leaders and our Sky Sports for Living coaches helped coach students and record scores at the School Games Projectability Sportshall Athletics event last week.

Northamptonshire Sport School Sports Manager Matthew Peleszok said: “More than 90 students with physical and learning disabilities have taken part in the competition.

“The event has gone really well and it’s been nice to see a range of students taking part.

“The Young Leaders and coaches from Corby Technical School have done a great job.

“They have been brilliant at leading the activities.”

The competitors took part in a variety of activities including speed bounce, target throw, high stepper, long jump and chest push.

The competition for primary schools included students from Studfall Junior School, Woodnewton School, Beanfield Primary School, Glapthorn Primary School and Rowan Gate Primary School.

The secondary school section of the competition was attended by students from our school, Corby Business Academy, Brooke Weston Academy and Friars Academy.
