Year 10 student Will, 14, arranged to work with mechanics at Dyno-Rod in Corby as part of our Career Pathway Programme.

During his time at the company he helped to fix vans, change brake pads, test lights and take engines out of vehicles and he so impressed his bosses that they offered him a position at the company on Saturdays and during the holidays.

Will said: “I’ve always been interested in mechanics and I’m keen to work on cars, vans and bigger vehicles.

“My time with the company was even better than I had hoped it would be.

“They got me working really hard and I thought it was fantastic.

“I never expected that I would get a job but my Mum told me beforehand that if I worked hard I could get a big outcome from it so I did my best.

“I’ve started working with them on Saturdays and they have mentioned there might be the chance of an apprenticeship once I’ve finished school.”
