Our brilliant young mathematicians have raised more than £100 for a children’s charity.

Our students raised £106 for the NSPCC by taking part in the Numberathon Challenge as part of the charity’s annual Number Day which is a nationwide fundraising event for children and young people.

The students were challenged to get sponsorship in exchange for completing as many times tables questions as they could in three minutes.

Teacher David Harley took part in the challenge with his Year 7 tutor group.

He said: “Our students regularly practise their times table so that it becomes second nature to them.

“They were very enthusiastic about this challenge for the NSPCC and they all did very well.”
