Corby Technical School recently visited Franklin's Gardens, home to the Northampton Saints as part of a Trust rugby trip.

Students from secondary schools across the Brooke Weston Trust took part in a training session led by the Saints coaches. The students were treated to an exciting tour of the grounds in which they had the chance to see all the area usually off limits to the public, including the changing rooms and gym. To end the day there was a tournament against the other Trust schools: Brooke Weston Academy, Kettering Science Academy and Thomas Clarkson Academy. BWA were crowned overall champions and each player received a medal for their hard work.

CTS PE teacher, Mr Dan Rodgers said ‘the students performed very well throughout the day and played competitively against the other schools. It was a great day and a very memorable experience.’

Student Harry from CTS said ‘I have never been to the Saints before, the grounds were massive. It was a great experience. We had a tour of the changing rooms and gym, a once in a lifetime opportunity. The training was very fun but also really helped me to improve my rugby skills and I am now considering taking up the sport.’
