On Saturday, over 50 students and staff from CTS where amongst the thousands of visitors who travelled to the bi-annual MCM Comic Con held at the NEC in Birmingham.

Many of them dressed up as their favourite characters and had the chance to get involved in everything superhero, sci-fi and manga. Students were able to look around the stalls, play retro computer games, attend art workshops and even sit in the famous Game of Thrones chair!

A variety of talks were held throughout the day by celebrities such as Billie Piper well known from Doctor Who, the cast of Red Dwarf and Lee Potts from Primeval.

Mr Markus Wilson, who organised the trip, said ‘As a school we hold lots of sports and academic trips but this was really about celebrating student’s individuality. There was something for everyone, whether students love reading and art or sci-fi. They had the opportunity be creative and explore a diverse range of interests.

‘It was a great day leading up to our Happiness Week in School. All the students had such a brilliant time in a lovely environment and were very well behaved.’
