Chemistry Conference

All Year 11 students recently took part in a chemistry conference to help them in preparation for their GCSE exam.

All Year 11 students recently took part in a chemistry conference to help them in preparation for their GCSE exam. Experienced teacher of chemistry and examiner of GCSE science, Jamie Sinclair from Keynote Educational, led the session.

The conference allowed the students to analyse exam question responses and receive top advice and tips to help them towards exam success. Students also had the opportunity to ask any questions they had and came away with a full set of revision notes.

Student Jake said ‘This was a brilliant conference. We took part in a wide range of group work. It was knowledge based, around what we need to know for the exam.’

Joseph said ‘The session was very engaging. We learnt lots of revision tips such as using flashcard and whiteboards. We also looked at questions in depth, taking parts from each others answers to come up with the perfect answer.’

Ollie ‘I now feel a lot more confident and prepared for the exam.’

Chemistry teacher Mr Thomas McDonnell  said ‘Jamie was a very good presenter, who made the session very engaging and interactive. The kids have all enjoyed the day and taken many useful tips from it.’
