A group of Year 8 students from CTS recently competed in the Brooke Weston Trust Netball Tournament.

The students from secondary schools across the Trust received a coaching session from Georgia Lees who plays WA/C for Surrey Storm netball super league. The students then played in a netball tournament against the other schools including Brooke Weston Academy, Corby Business Academy, Kettering Science Academy and Thomas Clarkson Academy.

During the tournament, the girls were observed on their skills and performance to see who would make the Brooke Weston Trust Elite Netball Team.

Well done to the following students who were selected for the team:

- Leah - 9S
- Maddie - 9S
- Grace - 9T

Lead Teacher of PE and Vocational Studies Mr Rogers said ‘The Trust are looking to build elite teams in different sports to increase collaboration between the schools and allow those performing at a higher level to have a greater chance to succeed. As a small school, this is a brilliant opportunity for the girls. From across all the trust schools they have been selected in the top 15 players, which is a massive achievement. I look forward to seeing their progression as they start to train as part of the elite team.’
