Our students will be joining schools across the UK to take part in a fundraising maths bonanza for charity.

The school will take part in the NSPCC Number Day on Tuesday 3rd December to help raise vital funds for the charity.

It will host a special assembly and students will be encouraged to take part in sponsored mathematics activities.

Director of mathematics Linda Arnold said: “To start with we’re going to hold an assembly which will be about the work of the NSPCC.

“Later that week during form time the students will also take part in a sponsored times table challenge to raise money for the charity.

“This is a great way to help a very worthy charity and encourage our students’ enjoyment of maths.”

NSPCC Number Day was launched in 2000 and it has so far raised more than £1.1 million for the charity’s work with vulnerable children in the UK.

The aim of Number Day is to make maths fun and instigate a positive ‘can do’ attitude towards the subject while raising funds and awareness of the NSPCC’s work.
