Our Year 10 Geography students will visit Stamford next week to gather data for their Controlled Assessment.

The students will examine whether Stamford has the characteristics of honeypot tourism, why people visit it, how long they visit it for, what visitors do during their stay and whether tourism has a negative or a positive impact on the town.

The project will make up 25% of their GCSE Geography mark.

Geography Teacher Mark Bidwell said: “The students are creating questionnaires for the project and will interview members of the public during the trip.

“It will give them a good experience of fieldwork, creating maps and recording data.

“I’m sure the experience will also help them to grow in confidence.”
