Trampolinist achieves bronze

Student Katie from CTS has recently attended the Regional Trampoline Team Qualifier in Loughborough. Competing for NGTA (Northamptonshire Trampoline and Gymnastics Academy), Katie performed in a large group of 19 entrants and managed to achieve bronze, narrowly missing out on joint gold by only 0.2 points. She also entered as part of a team that gained a silver medal.

She said ‘It was very nerve racking with so many people watching but I loved performing my routine.

‘I train for 8 hours a week and have taken part in the sport for 5 years, competing for around 4 of those years. My ultimate goal would be to take part in the Olympics. I have also started to work towards becoming a coach. I love being on the trampoline and would spend all my time at the club doing it if I could.’

Due to her success, Katie will now be a reserve for the regional team finals taking place in June.

Well done Katie!
