15-07 CTS hosts inaugural BWT Combined Cadet Force passing out parade

Corby Technical School was proud to host the inaugural passing out parade for the Brooke Weston Trust Combined Cadet Force.

Corby Technical School was proud to host the inaugural passing out parade for the Brooke Weston Trust Combined Cadet Force.

We welcomed cadets from our sister schools, Corby Business Academy, Brooke Weston Academy and Thomas Clarkson Academy, and distinguished guests for the historic event this afternoon.

The celebration marked the cadets gaining independent status at the end of their year-long partnership with Oundle School’s Cadet Force as part of the Cadet Expansion Scheme.

CTS teacher Nigel Barrett, who serves as a 2nd Lieutenant with the Trust’s Combined Cadet Force, said: "All our cadets have done incredibly well this year and we are very proud of them.

"We have a number of cadets who have shown they are natural leaders and they will take up leadership opportunities and responsibilities next year.

"Our inaugural passing out parade has been a fantastic occasion and a lovely culmination to a brilliant year."

CTS students Aidan, Zac, Jake, Natalie, Reece and Charlie will all become cadets with the CCF next year.

During today’s event they greeted our guests on their arrival and they had an opportunity to meet the cadets.

Natalie said: "I am already in the Air Cadets but I wanted to join the Army Cadets because I want to take part in more adventurous activities.

"I'm really looking forward to taking part in the expeditions and to enhancing my teamwork skills.

"I'm very pleased to be a part of today's event. It is a great way to get to know some of the cadets I'll be working with next year."

Charlie added: "I want to join the cadets because I hope to go to Welbeck College when I'm older and then join the Army.

"I'd like to go into the Artillery so I'm looking forward to going out on the shooting range with the cadets as well as the expeditions.

"I'm really pleased to be a part of today and I'm proud that it's taking place at my school."
