Our students exhibited their plans for an eco-hotel project alongside some of the UK’s most inspirational scientists and engineers at the Big Bang Fair.

The event at Derby’s Roundhouse was designed to inspire young people to study science, technology, engineering and mathematics.

A team of our Year 9 students exhibited their Go4Set project at the Go4Set Celebration and Assessment Event which was staged during the Big Bang Fair.

Design and Technology Teacher Nigel Barrett said: “The students spent about 10 weeks working on the project and looking at a variety of ways to save energy, including big light wells.

“The judges felt our students did a very good presentation and they were impressed with how passionately they talked about it.

“They also gave us some tips on how we could improve our report for next year.

“It was a brilliant day for our students and they had the added bonus of being able to look around the Big Bang Fair afterwards where there were lots of employers.”
