30-09 NSPCC assembly inspires students

Our Year 7 students are hoping to raise lots of money for the NSPCC this week by taking part in sponsored circuits.

The students were inspired to organise the fundraiser during their PE lessons following a visit from Kathryn Brown from the NSPCC last week.

Kathryn spoke to our students during assembly about the work of the NSPCC, e-safety and the special helpline service for children – Childline.

She said: “The NSPCC leads the fight against child abuse. We will do so until it ends and all children are safe from harm.

“However we can only do this because of the generosity of our supporters. Together we can shape a society where abuse doesn’t go unchallenged, where children are empowered to seek out help, and where every call for support can be answered.”

CTS Attendance and Welfare Officer Emma Toye said: “Kathryn’s talk helped to ensure that our students have the information they need to stay safe online and it highlighted the work of the NSPCC and Childline.”

Kathryn will return to our school on October 8th 2015 to give out thank you badges to the students and to receive our sponsorship money.
