Our students were amongst the first in the county to take part in a new educational project about relationships.

Northamptonshire Police and Crime Commission has joined forces with the charity Service Six and The Core Theatre for a new project examining young people’s relationships with one another.

The project was launched on Monday and yesterday the three organisations visited CTS to show our Year 9 and 10 students a drama about the beginnings of a relationship between two young people and to deliver educational workshops.

Prior to the visit our students had been examining different types of relationships in their tutor groups.

CTS Attendance and Welfare Officer Emma Toye said: “We were very pleased to be one of the first schools in Northamptonshire to take part in this project.

“The workshops with Service Six gave our students the chance to explore the differences between healthy and unhealthy relationships.

“The project stressed the importance of safeguarding students and ensured they have the skills they need to enable them to have healthy relationships in the wider community.

“It also taught them where they can seek help if they encounter problems.

“The drama performance was very powerful and the students responded well to it and to the workshops.”
